Here at Wingbeats, we celebrate the creativity and individuality of every member - and that includes your characters too! However, we need to ensure respect for artists. The following guidelines apply to all art and face claims used on the site.
Usage of Artwork for Characters
Members are allowed to use artwork to represent their characters, provided they have full permission from the artist or own the artwork themselves.
Any art created by another person must include clear credit to the artist
Do not edit, trace, recolor, or otherwise alter another artist's artwork without explicit permission.
All character artwork must adhere to our genetics guidelines. Stylization is expected, but coloration, markings, and other design elements should remain true to the cat's genetic profile.
Use of Face Claims
"Face Claims" refer to photographs of real cats used to visually represent your character.
You may use photographs only if they are free for noncommercial use or if you have permission. Stock images from royalty-free sources are
acceptable as long as they meet these terms.
When using a face claim, include credit to the photographer or the source site when possible.
Members should choose face claims that accurately reflect their character's genetics.
Photos of personal pets are welcome and do not require credit, but you must be the owner or have the owner's permission to use them.
Prohibited Content
AI-generated images of cats are not permitted under any circumstances. This includes AI-edited, blended, or stylized photographs that have been produced or altered by AI tools.
Any artwork or photograph used without proper credit or rights may be removed by staff. Repeated violations can result in further disciplinary action.
Moderators reserve the right to review any art or photographic references for accuracy, permissions, and compliance with these rules. If you are ever unsure whether a photo or artwork is acceptable, please reach out to staff for clarification before posting!
