Hey y'all!!

Thanks for taking a look at my page. It's a big work-in-progress still, but I'd like to start documenting my artwork as soon as possible. I need to stay up on my game with art - I always tend to go months without creating anything, so when I get back to it, it almost feels unnatural. Anyway, with a revived interest in Warriors comes revived muse, not only for writing and roleplaying, but for artwork as well.

When I was little I was always fascinated and blown away by my brother's artwork. He was an artist before I even considered it as a thing, being four years older than I. He drew all kinds of sketches - humans, creatures, logos, and even practiced calligraphy. As he progressed, he began to draw women, captured by their natural curves and beauty. He was - and is, still - truly an inspiration. So, when I was little, I longed to draw like him. My thing, however, was wolves, and dogs in general. That was unfamiliar territory for him, so I studied our childhood dog, our Beagle Lucy, for anatomy, and he taught me the tools of the trade.

I started out drawing on paper, of course. I drew thousands upon thousands of wolves, but they never were up to par with my expectations. That is a lesson many artists learn as they start, and my brother always encouraged me not to give up. Because when it comes to art, practice truly does make perfect. Only in recent years have I reached a level where I can be somewhat satisfied with my work.

When I was about thirteen or fourteen, my brother had a Bamboo digital drawing tablet. I always used it, and he always used my PS3, which I had no interest in, so we traded. Uneven in some eyes but fair for us! Ever since then I've practiced my drawing digitally. I've had my highs and lows, but all but abandoned my passion once I started work after high school.

Now, I am trying to reignite that passion, and this community is helping a lot with that.
I want to begin practicing traditional sketches again, especially to perfect my feline anatomy, which I am mostly unfamiliar with after an entire lifetime of drawing primarily canines. They aren't so difficult, I realized as I use reference images to aid me. Below is my most recent example of a traditional cat sketch, finished on August 24th, 2024.
