Promotion polls are a democratic process where the community votes on whether a staff member deserves a promotion. A director will initiate the poll, allowing community members to cast their votes over a 24-hour period. Past having their application accepted initially, a staff member will have to pass a poll for each promotion.

Promotion polls exist to foster a culture of transparency and accountability within our community. By allowing community members to participate in the evaluation of staff performance, we ensure that promotions are based on collective feedback rather than solely on administrative decisions. This democratic approach empowers members to voice their opinions and contributes to a sense of ownership in the community’s leadership.

Additionally, promotion polls serve as a valuable tool for professional development. They not only highlight the strengths of staff members but also identify areas for improvement. By incorporating community insights, we aim to create a supportive environment where staff can grow and develop in their roles. Ultimately, this process helps maintain high standards of service and reinforces the importance of collaboration and engagement within our community.

The staff member receives a percentage "grade" based on their promotion poll:

  • 80%+: The staff member is promoted with flying colors, reflecting strong community support.

  • 70-79%: The staff member is promoted but will undergo additional training to enhance their skills.

  • 69-50%: The staff member remains in their current position, as they do not meet the promotion criteria.

  • 0-50%: The staff member is demoted, reflecting significant concerns about their performance.
